The dating app we wished existed — so we made it.
We didn't build Rendezvous because we thought the world needed another dating app. We built it because every dating app we tried was solving the wrong problem.
Think about it: most dating apps start with a photo. You swipe left or right based on a split-second judgment. Maybe you read the bio, maybe you don't. Then, if you match, you enter the messaging purgatory — weeks of small talk that goes nowhere, or a conversation that fizzles before you ever meet in person.
We kept asking ourselves the same question: what if the date came first?
What if instead of judging someone by their best selfie, you found them because you both wanted to check out the same art exhibit on Saturday? Or because you both had your eye on the same jazz show? Or because someone created a dinner date at that new restaurant you've been wanting to try — and you thought, I'd love to go there with someone who actually wants to be there too.
That's the whole idea behind Rendezvous. You browse real activities created by real people. You find something that excites you. Then — and only then — you see who's behind it.
The name says it all. A rendez vous is a meeting at a prearranged time and place. Not a swipe. Not a maybe. A decision to show up.
We believe the best connections happen when two people share an experience — not when they analyze each other's profiles from behind a screen. When you're walking the same trail, sitting in the same concert, or tasting the same wine, you learn more about someone in two hours than two weeks of texting could ever reveal.
Rendezvous is for people who are done with the swiping cycle. People who know what they want and aren't afraid to show up for it. People who'd rather laugh over dinner with a stranger than exchange another round of 'So what do you do?'
We're just getting started. And we're building this for you.
